American Repertory Theatre

Submitting a Script to the A.R.T.

The American Repertory Theatre has a long history of commissioning and producing new works, including four new plays and two new adaptations among the nine productions in the most recent season.

Although the A.R.T. does not accept unsolicited manuscripts, authors who are interested in submitting a play or musical for production consideration may send a one-page synopsis and a 2-3 page dialogue sample to:

American Repertory Theatre
Literary Associate for New Stages
64 Brattle Street
Cambridge, MA 02138

Applicants should not send tapes, complete scripts or any other supporting materials. Applications are accepted by postal mail only (i.e., not via fax, e-mail, web pages, etc.). Because of the very large volume of submissions, the theatre will respond only if there is interest in producing the work submitted.
