Jovan Rameau
Jovan Rameau (Florizel in The Winter's Tale) graduated in 2000 from the A.R.T./MXAT Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University with an MFA in Acting. He also holds a BFA in Drama from the University of Southern California where he appeared as Chief Bromden in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. His roles at the Institute included Orsino in Twelfth Night, Konstantin Treplev in The Seagull, and Time and the Pig in The Blue Bird (the latter two productions presented at the Moscow Art Theatre [MXAT]). He also played the Blind Spider and TV Ariel in The Island of Anyplace. Mr. Rameau recently appeared as Prince of Thebes in the Oedipus Plays, sharing the stage with Avery Brooks and Earle Hyman on the Herode Atticus amphitheatre at the Acropolis in Greece. He also appeared as Fortinbras in Hamlet at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington D.C. In February 2004, Mr. Rameau will play Burgandy, a French Captain and a Heroic Servant while serving as understudy for Edgar in King Lear at the Yale Repertory Theatre, opposite Avery Brooks. He also appeared as a guest star on The Nanny and played the lead Reporter in a spoof of the film Mission to Mars.
