Lisa Kron (2.5
Minute Ride) began her solo career in 1984 at the landmark WOW
Cafe Theatre Collective in New York's East Village. She has since performed
in a multitude of spaces large and small - from Dixon Place to the World Financial

for a 1994-95 Drama Desk Award) was originally presented at Performance Space

Center, and then by the New York Theatre Workshop. The piece also toured
extensively to spaces such as the A.R.T, Josie's Cabaret in San Francisco, Highways
in Los Angeles, Actors Theatre of Louisville,
Tale Repertory Theatre, and the Portland Art Museum. In addition to her solo
work, Ms. Kron is a founding member of the Obie an Bessie Award-winning theatre
company The Five Lesbian Brothers, whose play The Secretaries
was produced in the fall by the New York Theatre Workshop. The Brothers have
recently completed a book of lesbian humor for Simon and Schuster, and an original
script for the Joseph Papp Public Theater.
Their play Brides of the Moon premiered in New York City at
the New York Theatre Workshop in November. Ms. Kron is the recipient of a 1994
NYFA fellowship grant in playwriting, the Robert Chesley Foundation 1994 Gay
and Lesbian Playwriting Award and the 1997 CalArts/Alpert Award in the theatre.
