Laidlaw (Lulu in The Birthday Party) has worked
previously with JoAnne Akalaitis
on Phèdre and Life is a Dream at the Court
Theatre, Chicago. Recent work includes Vivie in Mrs. Warren's Profession
with the Irish Classical Theatre in Buffalo, NY; and this past summer as Titania/Hippolyta
in the inaugural production of the Lakeside Shakespeare Project, a new summer
festival she has founded in Northern Michigan. Other Chicago credits include

Shakespeare Theatre), The Berlin Circle (Steppenwolf
Theatre), The Man Who Fell in Love with the Moon (Running With Scissors),
The Kentucky Cycle (Pegasus Players, Joseph Jefferson Award for Best
Supporting Actress), and Angels In America (The Journeymen, 5 Jeff Awards
including Best Production & Ensemble), as well as productions with About
Face, Powertap, Lifeline, Bailiwick Repertory, and Strawdog Theatre companies.
Film/TV credits include the feature film Three Days and Turks
for CBS. She received her BFA from Illinois Wesleyan University and holds a
certificate from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art of London, UK. Offstage,
she teaches and directs theatre at Near North Montessori Elementary School in
Chicago.
